On this trip we'll explore 2 of Parksville's most popular attractions, the Paradise Fun Park and the community park and beach!
PARKSVILLE
This quaint little town has 18 kilometres of beaches and the warmest water on the east coast of Vancouver Island, making it an ideal place for swimming, stand-up paddleboarding, and other water sports. At low tide, the community park is one of the best sandy beaches to visit this close to Nanaimo. It also has a skatepark, a big playground and volleyball courts!
Paradise fun park
With 2 exciting 18-hole golf courses to choose from and a picnic area and arcade on site, alongside splashing and bumping in one of their bumper boats , this park is a definite fun for all!
What to Wear:
- Appropriate clothing and footwear for the weather and for walking
What to Bring:
- Umbrella or rain coat (in case it rains)
- Water bottle
- Money if you wish to shop or play the arcade
- Snacks & lunch (or money for food)
- A backpack to carry all your items
- Camera

VIU Building 255, Main Lobby (second floor) at 9:00 am
Trip Includes:
Round-trip Transportation, one round on an 18-hole minigolf course, 1 ride in the bumper boats, free time at the Parksville community park.

How to Sign Up
Our activities are available to all current VIU Students. Sign up with us in person, next to the Front Reception Desk in the "Glassroom" on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12pm – 1:30pm in Building 255 - Second Floor.
You will need to have your:
- Student card,
- Proof of medical insurance (BC Care Card or Guard.me Insurance Policy)
- Payment (cash is currently the only method of payment for activities)
Waiver Form
Please read our general waiver form for VIU group activities in the attachment section below. All participants are required to read and sign the waiver before the start of the trip. We will provide a paper copy for you to read through again and sign the morning of the trip.
