VIU International Education invites applications from VIU academic or administrative staff under the Erasmus+ Mobility for Training (STT) or for Teaching Assignment (STA), to visit University of Huelva (UHU), Spain during the spring semester of the 2022-23 academic year.
The Erasmus+ Mobility program is developed by the European Commission with financial support organized by the Spanish Service for Internationalization of Education (SEPIE) within the Erasmus + Program, approved by the European Parliament in the financial framework 2014-2020.
- Interested applicants should contact edabroad@viu.ca for assistance in liaising with University of Huelva to develop a mobility proposal PIOR to submitting a grant application
- Applicants are encouraged to have at least a basic or functional level of Spanish in order to maximize the mobility opportunity. Applicants with an intermediate skill level in Spanish will be prioritized.
- Mobility will take place during the spring semester of the 2022-23 academic year, for a five working day period, if possible, during a UHU International Week (April 17-21 or June 19-23, 2023). Mobility activities must be completed PRIOR to July 2023
- Candidates should send complete applications to VIU International Education edabroad@viu.ca .by the deadline of March 5th, 2023
- Successful recipients will receive financial assistance from University of Huelva to cover maintenance and travel costs during the period of mobility (see Grant Amount).
- Successful recipients will be responsible for travel and accommodation arrangements
- To participate in this call for mobility Erasmus +, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Teaching Staff: Be Employed at VIU for educational purposes, both at the time of application and when carrying out the mobility.
- Non-Teaching Staff: Be Employed at VIU, both at the time of application and when carrying out the mobility.
- The mobility must not take place in the country of residence of the participant, nor where they are pursuing studies or work.
- Submit completed Erasmus+ Mobility Grant application to edabroad@viu.ca by the deadline of March 5th, 2023
- Submit certificate, confirmation or self-evaluation of Spanish language level
- Submit updated/recent CV including pertinent skills or professional affiliations
Applications will be reviewed by VIU International Education, referencing the following ERASMUS criteria:
- Quality of proposed activities at UHU (outlined in grant application)
- Level of Spanish language
- Motivations (outlined in grant application)
- Any other information specified by the candidate (additional skills or skills, specific academic interest, vulnerable socio-economic situation, etc.)
Subsistence Expenses
This amount is set according to the country of destination and length of stay. Spain is included in Group 2 and mobilities contribution to this country is €160.00 per day.
Travel Expenses
This amount is calculated by distance between the city of origin and the host university city. In the case of Vancouver Island, the allocated travel fund is €1500.00 per participant.
Funding Period
The maximum funding period is 5 days (plus 2 travel days) for staff and faculty mobility visitors.
