International students who have been accepted to study at VIU in any program other than a Master’s degree are now required to submit a Provincial Letter of Attestation (PAL) in addition to their Letter of Acceptance when applying to Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada for their study permit. To ensure all VIU students who need a PAL receive one, we ask that you please complete this short survey.
You do not need a Provincial Attestation Letter if you:
- Are already in Canada on a study permit at another school and will be switching to VIU
- Will be attending a Master’s Degree program at VIU
- Will be a short-term visiting student (one semester)
- Applied for a study permit prior to Jan 21, 2024
