Student Clubs

Joining a student club can enhance your educational experience, develop your leadership skills and provide you with a unique opportunity to engage with the world from right here at VIU! Check out some of the clubs that VIU students have created to address critical local and global issues, from environmental sustainability to gender equality, and refugee rights.

VIU WUSC

VIU’s World University Service of Canada (WUSC) Local Committee is a campus-based student group working towards a more inclusive, equitable and sustainable world by supporting student refugees in their integration to Canadian social and academic life.

The Global Studies Student Association (GSSA) aims to bring together Global Studies students and academic peers who share the same values and ideas about being a responsible global citizen. The GSSA welcomes people who are willing to take action and unite by engaging with local and global communities.

VIU MUN

Model United Nations (MUN) is an interdisciplinary club at VIU which allows students to enter into the world of international politics and cooperation by role playing international delegates at UN simulation conferences held all over the world.

VIU Student Organization for Social Change

The Student Organization for Social Change (SOSC) is an activist club for students at VIU. The club’s main purpose is to raise the social consciousness of students and to give them the networks and resources to facilitate social change.
