Trip Information

Come discover the pristine coastline, temperate rain forest and some of Canada's most beautiful beaches along Vancouver Island's west coast. On route to Tofino, we will veer left towards Ucluelet and stop at the Wild Pacific Trail - hopping of the bus, we will take a refreshing walk through the mossy rain forest which leads to the famously rugged and wind-swept coastline. A stop in downtown Tofino reveals a quaint surfer town with local artisan shops and art galleries. Take some time to find the perfect café or restaurant and take in this laid back community's unique coastal culture.

CC Road Trips - Tofino & Wild Pacific Trail

Trip Highlights

The Wild Pacific Trail

A walk on the Wild Pacific Trail will weave itself into your soul, whether this is your first visit or a daily ritual. This easy, family-friendly trail traces the edge of reefs where shipwrecks, whales and vistas abound. You will be enthralled by Vancouver Island's dramatic beauty and fascinating interpretive signs will enrich your visit to Ucluelet's famous 9km trail network. A perfect destination for photographers, storm watchers, bird watchers and hikers of all abilities.

Tofino

On the remote west coast of Vancouver Island, within the traditional territory of the Tla-o-qui-aht First Nations, sits the village of Tofino. Nestled in the heart of the Clayoquot Sound UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, Tofino is a prime destination for year-round surfing, beach time, exploring the outdoors through a number of guided activities and seeking inspiration from the wild.

Tofino

Things to do while visiting Tofino:

The Tofino Market

The Tofino Market is where to meet over 30 local artisans, artists, bakers and more, all with their own style that reflects our rugged coast.   Some snack purveyors are usually on-site and look under the gazebo for live music or an artist workshop or demonstration. While there is typically some fresh produce on offer, this is a market of creators. The pioneering spirit of this remote village, not so long ago called Tuff City, lives on at the Tofino Market.

Cultural Discovery

If these trees could talk. Take a walk – or a paddle – through time for immersion into the history of this area.

Beaches

Every day is a beach day in Tofino! Get to know our local spots for sand, surf, sun and storm watching.

Shops + Galleries

Walk around and stay awhile. Shops and galleries in Tofino are locally owned and operated, making them one-of-a-kind finds.

Food + Drink

Tofino's food culture is unforgettable. Thoughtfully-sourced ingredients capture the taste of our coast, while a range of local spots captures the imaginations of foodies and casual diners alike. There's a Tofino taste for everyone.

Tofino Brewery

They brew small batch, handcrafted beer using high quality malted barley and Pacific Northwest hops. Their tasting room is open 7 days a week from 11am-10pm. Try a flight of their staples and seasonals, enjoy a pint of your favorite, or just grab some beer to-go! Please note – you are not legally allowed to drink on the bus or on public beaches, streets or sidewalks. You are welcome to purchase the beer and bring it back home to Nanaimo. http://tofinobrewingco.com/home
