This program runs from March - April on select Fridays from 1:30PM - 4PM, with the exception of Ammonite Falls as it will finish at 5PM. The cost to join is only $2.00! Please sign up in advance.

Westwood Lake

Westwood Lake Park is one of Nanaimo's most loved parks. Located at the base of Mt. Benson, it is a year round destination. There is a 5.5 km trail around the lake, which takes about one hour to hike. The trail is well groomed, and is considered an easy walking trail. Westwood Lake Park has every amenity one could expect from one of the crown jewels in the city’s park system. Beaches and floating docks, playgrounds and picnic tables as well as fishing docks. The main beach area near the paved parking lot is Nanaimo's only lifeguard patrolled fresh water swimming spot (June-August). There is a washroom and change room Building on site (not wheelchair accessible).
