Nanaimo Campus - Building 250, Room 308
Faculty are invited to start the day off right with coffee, croissants and an exploration of Collaborative Online International Learning (also known as COIL). This workshop, offered in partnership between CIEL and International Mobility, will provide an opportunity for faculty to learn about COIL as an innovative teaching and learning strategy to incorporate a global perspective and intercultural engagement to a traditional classroom experience without the need for actual international travel! VIU Faculty from Engineering, Early Childhood Education and Recreation/Tourism will share their recent experiences with COIL as an inclusive and accessible learning strategy through collaboration with partners in Vietnam, Indonesia and Scotland. Attendees can expect to gain a deeper understanding of the value of COIL from the student retention, EDI and climate action perspectives, as well as tangible tools to help develop a COIL program in their respective programs. Register via InVIU now.
