Apply through VIU International Mobility
You must express your interest in your chosen summer program to International Mobility office before submitting an application to partner school for a summer program.
Program Overview
There are so many opportunities here for academic study, professional development, international exploration and intercultural learning.
Our partners offer programs in language and culture, business and more. Condensed and immersive, Summer Abroad programs provide targeted skills and experiences in two to six weeks, and generally between May and August.
The program fees typically cover accommodation, some meals and cultural activities (travel arrangements are the responsibility of the student).
Japan
J. F. Oberlin University
The Summer Session at J. F. Oberlin University is a maximum 6 weeks, 3 sessions, intensive program in the center of Tokyo. Courses offered will be several content course and three levels of Japanese language courses. Each course allows participants to have first-hand experience through not only theoretical study, but also through field trips and lectures by guest professionals. Upon completion of each course, participants will be issued an official transcript from J. F. Oberlin University (4 credits/course)*.

Korea
Seoul Women’s University
Online Basic Korean
This class is an introduction to Korean alphabets, grammar, and culture for students who have no (or very limited) prior knowledge of Korean. The goal of the course is to provide a foundation that will enable students to acquire and develop integrated skills of speaking, listening, reading and writing in Korean. The process of learning these skills will develop the student’s ability to communicate in real-life situations based on basic Korean level.
It is an online synchronous course, which means we will meet for regular class sessions online via Zoom. Your presence and
active participation are required and important for creating the most effective learning experience.

All student must be nominated by their home university before applying to ‘Online Basic Korean’ course. The SWU program
coordinator will invite students by email to submit their applications after receiving their nomination.
Student Learning Outcomes:
By the end of the course, students will be able to:
- Read and write Korean alphabets
- Read and comprehend simple, written texts
- Engage in basic conversations of daily life topics such as greetings, time, numbers, etc.
- Acquire knowledge and understanding about the core grammar patterns and expressions of the Korean language

Bahrom International Program (BIP)
About the Program: Bahrom International Program is a 4-week summer program in Seoul, South Korea. The program is conducted in English, and is an “experience Korea” cultural program. The program consists of various lectures, field trips and group activities. The credits earned at SWU may be transferred to VIU, there will be a requirement to register and pay for 1 course at VIU in order to earn credit for this experience. This program is not gender specific, despite the University name, the summer program is open for any and all gender identities.

Chung-Ang University
Program: CAU International Summer Program
About the Program: The CAU International Summer Program (ISP) is a hybrid program providing students with a window into Korea coupled with courses and cultural experiences that foster an understanding of Korea's culture and society as well as subjects ranging from Business, Social Sciences, International Relations, Korean Language.

CBS provides a short-term program that is full of opportunities for you: During your stay at CBS you can select courses from different disciplines to enhance your skills in theory and practice. Acknowledging that working successfully in an international environment requires excellent intercultural soft skills, you will work together with Bachelor and Master students from all over the world. Frankfurt School of Finance and Management
Finance & Management Summer School
About the Program: Aiming to offer students from all backgrounds the opportunity to broaden their international perspective, all while being exposed to advanced courses which provide progressive learning in specialized financial and logistical fields.
The program will consist of one week dedicated to Management and one week dedicated to Finance. International Summer School Ringerike
About the Program: Each year about 60 students gather together at Campus Ringerike for an intensive, five-week programme to study international management and international marketing. Students work closely with professors in USN’s friendly and stimulating campus environment.
The programme offers courses in International Management (IMA3000) and International Marketing (MAR327) with learning activities that include lectures, discussions, and group work.
Location: Ringerike
Dates: The core programme runs from June 3 to June 27, starting with an orientation for international students from May 29 to May 30. May 31 to June 2 there will be a trip to Bergen, open to all participants (pre-subscription required).
