Join UPEI's Writer-in-Residence Jay Ruzesky for a public reading from his new creative non-fiction manuscript, After Antarctica: A Northern Amundsen Pilgrimage, followed by a talk on writing and editing. Jay is a novelist, poet, travel and memoir writer, photographer and professor of creative writing, Canadian literature and film studies at Vancouver Island University.

Lunch and Learn: Impact of COVID-19 on Social Service Delivery in the Nanaimo Region

COVID-19 has severely affected local social service delivery. While service organizations should be commended for their prompt and innovative responses to initial shutdowns and the required shift to virtual service delivery and/or development of new safety measures for face to face contact, the service users most on the margins have likely struggled with access. Join Jeanette Schmidt and Holly Bradley as they review their preliminary with local service providers, reflecting on the impact of COVID-19 on service delivery.
