International Student Mentor Program Objectives
The International Student Mentor Pilot Program (The Pilot) is designed to facilitate communication and peer-to-peer relationships around pre-arrival supports for incoming students and routine questions as they relate to the successful welcome and arrival of new international students to VIU.  The Pilot will focus supports for newly admitted students from India, with the hope to formally expand the program to all newly admitted international students in the near future.
Mentors engage newly admitted international students about content in our online pre-arrival course, Ready, Set, Go!  The mentors help facilitate reminders and engage dialogue around routine issues and queries (such as enrolling for classes, housing, buying books, and what to bring)
