Program Overview
Field School Dates: May 12 - 28, 2020

This 9 credit field school will visit Central Belize in partnership with Toucan Ridge Ecology & Education Society (TREES). Participants can expect to visit Monkey Bay Wildlife Sanctuary, Cockscomb Basin Wildlife Sanctuary, and Billy Hawk Caye.

Minimum "C-" in BIOL 202 (Ecology) or equivalent
Minimum GPA of 2.67 ("B-") in last 30 credits completed

Field School Fees & Costs: $3,300

Field school fees include:

  • Shared accommodation
  • Most meals
  • Most program related travel
  • Program activity costs

Expenses not included in field school fees:

  • Tuition for BIOL 395
  • Return airfare to and from the field school location
  • Guard.Me Travel medical insurance
  • Personal expenses
  • Passport and visa costs
  • Vaccinations if required

All payments must be made via the student record. Credit cards are NOT accepted.

Passports: All participants must have a valid passport good for six months after your return. Applications for Canadian passports are available at Canada Post offices or on-line (www.ppt.gc.ca). Students must be able to legally travel outside of Canada and through/to the USA.

Visas

  • Canadian passport holders do not require a visa for tourist visits of up to 30 days, but must have onward or return air tickets and proof of sufficient funds to maintain themselves.
  • It is the responsibility of any International students participating in this field school to determine if a visa is required and to take the necessary steps to obtain a visa
  • International students going abroad must make sure their TRV and Study Permits are up-to-date and won't expire while they are abroad.
