Teams of five will participant in a wide range of tasks and challenges. This race will be very vigorous and require endurance and stamina. It is suggested that participants are in good physical shape. The race may include challenges that require swimming, running, jumping, climbing. The race may take participants to areas of high heights or require mental concentration. The teams will race to stations led by the Campus Rec team. The race will be done entirely on foot or on transportation supplied by the Campus Recreation team. No outside transportation is allowed. Teams will not be allowed to participate with substitutions and in order to finish the race all members need to be present. There will be no cell phones or modes of communication allowed while racing. Each station will have emergency contact abilities as well as first aid in case needed.  What to Wear: Appropriate active clothing and footwear for all weather A change of clothes for after or during the race Good running shoes  What to bring: Identification and health care or health insurance numbers Water bottle  Money if you wish to shop or buy food/tokens for the arcade Snacks & lunch A backpack to carry all your items Meeting Location:  VIU Gym Building 190 at 10:00 am Trip Includes: VIU provides all transportation if required. All equipment for the challenges. Policies, Health & Safety We have an ongoing commitment to ensure the safety and quality of our trips, with trained and responsible student leaders, staff and community partners. Before you sign-up, please check out our policies & procedures for more information about how to prepare for a trip, as well as our cancellation policy. There are no refunds for special events due to the fact that tickets are purchased in advance. If you are wanting to change the name on the ticket, you can do so up to one week prior to the event as long as the person changing the name is a student and that student comes into the gym office and changes the contact info. If this does not happen or the change is made before one week than that ticket cannot be honored. How to Sign Up Our activities are available to all current VIU Students. You will need to have your: Student card, Proof of medical insurance (BC Care Card or Guard.me insurance policy) Payment (cash is currently the only method of payment for activities) Hours & Locations for Signing Up with us: Faculty of International Education Monday to Friday from 8:30am to 4:00pm in Building 255, 2nd Floor Reception. Lunchtime Activity Sign Up Booth Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12pm – 1pm in Building 255 - 1st Floor International Commons.
