Add to CalendarFoggy Mountain Fall Fair & Coombs Market10/01/2016 10:00 AM10/01/2016 05:30 PMMM/DD/YYYYAmerica/VancouverAbout the Foggy Mountain Fall Fair & Coombs Market Join us as we head north of Nanaimo to the Village of Cumberland to visit the Foggy Mountain Fall Fair. The fair features an old fashioned apple press (bring your apples!), heritage games, Museum tours, a tasty canteen, the Cumberland Pie of the Year Contest, kids hands on art projects, harvest vendors, community groups, artist demos, dance performances, workshops, local artists, live music, and more! We will also visit the famous "Goats on the Roof" Market, in the small town of Coombs.  There will be time to explore this unique market, which features food and items from around the world. Everyone will have a chance to purchase lunch or snacks and take pictures of the goats snacking on the grass roof.  The Foggy Mountain Fall Fair and Local Colours ArtsFest is a collaboration of the Comox Valley Community Arts Council, Cumberland Museum and Archives, and the Cumberland Community Forest Society. Each organization brings a special character to this fun filled community event. What to wear: Bring clothes for warm and cold weather (based on the weather for the day) A warm sweater and a light jacket (waterproof jacket if possible) Warm pants (if you have waterproof pants you may want to bring them) Appropriate footwear (running shoes, hiking boots, or gum boots) What to bring: Water bottle  Snacks Money for shopping A small camera A packed lunch and dinner (unless you would like to buy your food) Meeting Location:  VIU Opgaard Bus Loop at 10:00 am Trip Includes: Transportation to and from Cumberland and Coombs Market, shopping & free time. How to Sign Up Our activities are available to all current VIU Students. Sign up with us in person in Building 255. You will need to have your: Student card, Proof of medical insurance (BC Care Card or Allianz Global Assistance Insurance Policy) Payment (cash is currently the only method of payment for activities) Hours & Locations for Signing Up with us: Faculty of International Education Monday to Friday from 8:30am to 4:00pm in Building 255, 2nd Floor Reception. Lunchtime Activity Sign Up Booth Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12pm – 1pm in Building 255 - 1st Floor Learning Commons.
