Vancouver Island University and Tra Vinh University have a strong working relationship, which grew out of a Canadian-government funded capacity Building project. Currently, Tra Vinh accepts faculty and staff from VIU to teach and learn with them, and VIU regularly hosts staff and faculty from TVU.
